Jimmy Jib Sizes

Jimmy Jibs are measured from the fulcrum (tripod/pedestal) to the very front of the arm, increasing in 3ft sections.

Types of jibs are listed below:

Standard - 6ft, lens height 13ft (3.9m)
Standard Plus - 9ft, lens height 16ft (4.8m)
Giant - 12ft, lens height 19ft (5.7m)
Giant Plus - 15ft, lens height 23ft (7m)
Supergiant - 18ft, lens height 25ft (7.6m)
Mega - 21ft, lens height 27ft (8.2m)
Supergiant Plus - 24ft, lens height 30ft (9.1m)
Extreme - 30ft, lens height 35ft (10.6m)

Rear sections:
One Section is used for the Standard, Standard Plus and the Giant cranes.
Two sections are needed for the Giant Plus, Super Giant, Mega and Super Giant Plus Jibs.
The Extreme Jib requires three rear sections.

Safe Working Loads

The SWL is dependent on length:
Up to 12ft reach = 27.5KG
Up to 30ft reach = 22.7KG
40ft reach = 11.3KG

Clearance necessary for the following sized jibs:

For a 360 swing:
6, 9, 12ft jibs - 3m x 3m
15, 18, 21, 24ft jibs - 4.6m x 4.6m
30ft Jib - 6.2m x 6.2m

For a 180 swing:
6,9,12ft jibs - 3m x 2.7m
15, 18, 21, 24ft jibs - 4.6m x 3.8m
30ft Jib - 6.2 x 4.5m
